Background
C. William Coakley, or Mr. C., attended Bonanza High School, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Harvard University. Following college, Mr. C has enjoyed a successful 30-year career as a teacher, counselor, college instructor, athletic trainer, coach, and business & educational consultant.
Since the founding of Academic Coaching Services (ACS) in 1996, Mr. C has become one of the leading college coaches/consultants and test preparation instructors in the Western region. Over one thousand students have participated in SAT/PSAT & ACT test preparation classes, math tutoring, home-schooling instruction, college essay-writing seminars, and college planning programs. Mr. C understands the unique challenges facing those particular students who seek admissions to the most selective colleges and universities in the United States. “Our goal is to empower students and families during the college admissions process. We want to help students clarify their goals and create effective action plans to achieve them; our mentoring often continues throughout the students’ college careers to help ensure continued support and success.”
Mr. Coakley is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) & Western Association of College Admissions Counseling (WACAC). For that past 25 years, he has served as the President of the Harvard Alumni Club of Nevada and interviewed Nevada students for Harvard College admissions for over 20 years.
